Santorini is an island in the Southern Aegean Sea, about 200km southeast of Greece’s mainland.. The whole complex of Santorini Islands is still an active volcano and has its crater in the sea.

The Santorini Islands are formed as a result of intensive volcanic activity (12 huge eruptions; once approximately every 20,000 years). Each eruption caused the volcano’s central part to collapse, creating a large crater. However, the volcano managed to recreate itself over and over again.

It takes about 17 hours to travel to Santorini from Singapore.
